Thinking about making the switch to Cornerstone Learn?
Electrolux was one of the first to do it. Their team focused on design, smart decisions, and keeping the experience simple for employees. Instead of launching a completely new platform, they made Cornerstone Learn (formerly known as EdCast) feel like a natural extension of what people were already using.
We spoke with Henrik Karlsson, Senior Manager for People Technologies and Service Delivery, about how they approached the transition and what helped them get it right.
- How Electrolux approached their Cornerstone Learn transition
- Key steps to align multiple platforms with one consistent design
- Tips for handling internal communication and change management
- Lessons from the first real-world Cornerstone Learn customization
- Ideas to guide your own platform rollout with confidence
What makes the Octily and Electrolux partnership work so well?
Henrik Karlsson: “One word: trust. We know we can hand over a challenge and the Octily team will come back with a solution. We don’t need to micromanage, and that gives us space to focus on strategy while they handle the details. It’s rare to find that.”

What was your approach to implementing Cornerstone Learn?
Henrik Karlsson: “We always start with what Cornerstone offers out of the box. We push the platform as far as we can. Then we identify what’s missing and customize where it matters. That way, we keep the best of both worlds.”
About Electrolux
Electrolux is a leading global appliance company that has shaped living for the better for over 100 years. With products sold in around 120 markets, the group includes well-known brands such as Electrolux, AEG, and Frigidaire. From kitchen and laundry appliances to air care and floor care, Electrolux delivers sustainable and thoughtfully designed innovations for homes and businesses around the world.
Headquartered in Stockholm, Electrolux employs around 45,000 people globally. The company focuses on creating better experiences for both customers and employees, combining global scale with a strong commitment to digital transformation and people-first innovation across the business.
What challenge stood out most during the transition?
Henrik Karlsson: “The split experience between our existing system, CSX, and Cornerstone Learn. It felt like two separate platforms. That created a barrier for users. Octily suggested a shared header and unified design, and it worked. The experience feels seamless now, even if technically the platforms are still distinct.”
Did that solution affect adoption?

How do you drive internal communication and adoption?
Henrik Karlsson: “We work with dedicated change management and communications teams, and we involve them early. We use internal platforms, email, and in-platform messaging. For this rollout, Octily helped us build banners and videos directly into the experience. These touchpoints keep the message visible and relevant every time someone logs in.”
What advice would you give others planning a Cornerstone Learn rollout?
It didn’t feel like launching a new platform. It felt like expanding an experience our employees already knew. That made all the difference.

Final thoughts
Henrik Karlsson: “This is already our second round of platform customization. We started this journey years ago and never considered going back to the default version. With the right partner and an open conversation, you can build something that truly works for your people.”
